#60: ITL Hosts Training Event With Taekwondo Club Villeneuvois - Lovent
ITL welcomed Taekwondo Club Villeneuvois - Lovent (France) for a two-day camp that took place at the Santa Venera dojang.
Representing the French club was Club President Amar Dif, together with five athletes and their families. Also in attendance was eight-dan Grandmaster Seung-Seok Ryu (Dan VIII), President of Ryu’s Taekwondo (Munich).
The club from Lovent visited Malta directly after having attending the Taekwondo Days training camp in Serbia (Asteriks) last weekend. Conversely, ITL returned to the fray after having trained with the national junior teams of England and France during the same time period.
The two forces collided in a short-duration intensive training camp, delivered by ITL coaches Gianluca Barbara and Ditmir Vodinaj.
On Tuesday 27th August 2024, Gianluca conducted a technical and tactical sparring session in the morning. Later that day, sparring matches were held at the ITL dojang, organised by coach Ditmir.
Gianluca delivered more sessions the next day. They featured a mixture of tactical and volume sparring, enjoyed by all attending cadets, juniors and seniors.
ITL enjoys a healthy friendship with the south France-based club, with them having attended Malta on three other occasions in the past, including the European Cadet Championships in 2022. ITL also took part in a competition they organised earlier this year.
