  • Gianluca Barbara

    ITL Director & Kyorugi Coach

    Gianluca won 8 consecutive national opens from his debut year (2012) till his retirement (2020). He also placed in various international opens (medaling in over eight countries in the -68kg category). He became Malta’s first athlete to play in a world championship (2015) and Malta’s first athlete to medal in a Masters competition abroad (kyorugi). Competitive history aside, Gianluca is a specialist in exercise and nutrition science, weight management (BSc, PgDip, MSc), and health writing (M.A). He is also the current head coach at the National Sports School (NSS).

  • Ditmir Vodinaj

    Kyorugi Coach

    Ditmir is a 6-time Albanian national champion (-74kg), having risen through the ranks of Vllaznia Martial Arts. His consistent performances abroad earned him countless honours, including several ‘best player’ awards in both national and international events. Aside from a role within the ITL, Ditmir is also the current national coach of Malta. He boasts extensive competition history, particularly in Balkan championships, where Taekwondo is known to be one of the most followed sports.

    Jovo Mirkovic

    Poomsae Coach

    Jovo started his Taekwondo journey in 2006, in Bosnia, competing in Kyorugi in multiple Balkan championships. After moving to Serbia in 2015, he fell in love with Poomsae and the technical aspects of Taekwondo. Jovo eventually began teaching and competing in Poomsae, winning several national competitions in various poomsae styles - individual, team, and freestyle poomsae.
