#67: Covered In Paint, ITL Hits Malta’s Happiest Fun Run

Malta’s happiest fun run returned on the 27th October; a unique and colourful 5 km ‘race’ organised simply for having good time.

Colour My Run saw 20 ITL members set out from Fort Manoel, all dressed in in a pristine white.

A segment of the ITL team during ‘Colour My Run’.

They would later leave Manoel Island and take the road towards Msida for 2.5 km, before turning and making their way back to the starting point at the fort.

As for the ‘colour’ bit, all participants had to make their way through a series of checkpoints, running by persons in jumpsuits ready to dowse the runners in powdered paint.

As if the paint wasn’t enough, the runners would also speed through a foam-bath to emerge all covered in bubbles, and another area where the CMR team would ambush the participants and spray them with their water guns.

Young athletes Dwayne Micallef, Emma Lautier and Matteo Cassar were amongst the first of their age group to cross the finish line.

Meanwhile, Noah Barbara, age 4, ran the distance with an unbroken pace with a time of 40 minutes.

Several parents of athletes also went the distance, crossing the finish line with patches of red, blue, green, pink and yellow.

The event was a unique and colourful 5 km run (or walk) that created an opportunity for a positive, healthy and active team building within our team.

It was also a tight family event that gave us another valuable memory, if not also some fun and laughter.

Needless to say, I am so proud and thankful for the ITL team for having gotten together and hit this event with such passion.

Well done, team!
