#54: Another OCR In The ITL Books

Taking on The Grid Classic on the 25th of May 2024 was ITL coach Gianluca Barbara, who finished the 20-obstacle, 10 km course in 01:20:00.

ITL is no stranger to OCRs; mixed-fitness events testing the total condition of the human body.

The event followed ITL’s participation in The Grid Kids last March, wherein the club fielded no less than 20 athletes aged four to 14 years.

The event featured many of the classic The Grid obstacles, that included ‘The Weave’, net crawls, horizontal hanging ladders, net climbs, weighted walks, burpees (many of those), mud pits, ring swings, rope climbs, and of course… the large slide at the business end of the race.

ITL finished first amongst all players in the entire wave (wave 6), lapping players to as far as lap 3.

The explosive and multi-functional training within the four walls of the ITL premises has shown time and again its efficacy when competing in multi-sport events.

Earlier on, another two ITL athletes Jean and Ella Schembri breezed through the prior edition of The Grid Kids, finishing first in their respective age categories.

Although not taekwondo-related, ITL is a big supporter of mixed fitness and active lifestyles. Since its conception, athletes of the club have attended both Spartan and Tough Mudder OCRs, aside from The Grid itself.
