#82: ITL Hosts Training Camp With Italian Team: Bek Doo San Bari
An intense weekend of training took place on the 22nd and 23rd March with Italian team Bari Bek Doo San visiting the island for a training camp.
Training took place on Saturday, together with a full complement of ITL seniors and competitive youngsters with coaches Ditmir Vodinaj and Gianluca Barbara. The former led a technical session in the morning, while the latter did a tactical session in the evening.
Come Sunday, the team convened again for a volume sparring session that saw the participation of all ITL seniors, the five Italian players in attendance, and another three players from new Maltese club - Strive Taekwondo - that has opened its doors this past week.
There have been no shortage of training camps this year with ITL co-running a high-level camp in Greece last January, followed by another in Tirana, Albania the next month.
Earlier this year, ITL also welcomed a team from Austria for a combined training seminar. This team visited Malta as part of a delegation led by Dr Reza Zadehmohammad, who took the role of the lead examiner in the last Dan Grading session.
The experiences, no doubt, have become a crucial component in the development of the students and athletes within the club, as they seek to continue their journey as athletes, or martial artists.
ITL would like to thank Bari Bek Doo San and Strive Taekwondo for their contribution in this camp, and to what could hopefully be many shared experiences in the future.
